BROOK LAWN FARM MARKET
ROADSIDE MARKET
Our roadside market is open each season from late April through the 4th Saturday of
October.  We harvest everything by hand, and then grade and select for high quality.

Strawberry season begins in May and extends into June.  Our berries are picked every
morning.  At the peak of the season we open the field at scheduled times and invite
customers to pick their own berries.  All of the strawberries that we grow are excellent
for fresh eating, freezing, and making jam.

Sweet corn is our specialty!  Since 1980, Farmer Jim has planted early sweet corn under
plastic.  This technique enables corn lovers to have that first taste of corn by mid to late
June.  July and August mark the peak of sweet corn season with plentiful supplies for
freezing and corn roasts.  Corn grown in September and early October is some of the
sweetest of the season due to cooler growing temperatures.  We grow numerous
varieties of white, yellow, and bicolor sweet corn throughout the season.

From July through late September, over 54 varieties of yellow peaches and white
peaches ripen in our orchards.  August is “peach month,” when there is an abundant
harvest of fruit for canning and freezing.  Other orchard crops on our farm include
yellow nectarines, white nectarines, sugar plums, yellow plums, prune plums, cherries,
apples, and pears.

Heirloom tomatoes, squash, eggplant, okra, sweet peppers & hot peppers from our
veggie patch are in season from late June through late October.  August is a good time to
purchase quantities of tomatoes for canning.

We begin our harvest of over 100 varieties of pumpkins and gourds in September.
These along with Indian corn, popcorn, gourds, straw bales, cornstalks, and fall fruits
provide endless decorating possibilities for autumn.
